Thats Deidra Ik'ra the doctor i hired on my ship. she's not like other bogarians.

Bogarians are a peculiar race. Purple skin, long ears and from what i've read, a higher tolerance for cold temperatures than humans. The race in general is really odd. Their society closely ressembles the old days of human society but the men are opressed instead of the women.

Bogarian males are treated like second class citizen by their ilk since their society promotes female dominance and empowerment. The Bogarian females are very strong willed and they see men (of all races) as the weaker sex and unable to take on important roles in society. most of the Bogarian males have no trouble with this concept because its the only thing they know.

But, ofcourse, some bogarian men (and even some females) have seen the light and are opposed to the opression of males in their societies and they started a movement to promote gender equality. Things are slowly starting to change but its far from being perfect....

I went to a Bogarian colony once on a delivery, most females looked at me like they didin't expect a male to be able to pilot a ship and i found it funny. I think all men and women are equals and i hope the Bogarians will find out just like we, the humans, did too in the past..
